Mercy Charism

The Mercy Charism at Holy Spirit School is the guiding force that shapes our school's vision and mission. Rooted in the rich tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, our school is dedicated to fostering an environment of compassion, service, and social justice. This charism encapsulates the values of Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, who advocated for helping those in need, especially the poor and marginalised.

At Holy Spirit School, the Mercy Charism is not merely a set of principles; it is a way of life. We instil in our students a deep sense of empathy, encouraging them to reach out to those less fortunate, both within our school community and in the broader world. Our commitment to service extends to various charitable initiatives, community outreach programs, and volunteer opportunities.

In the spirit of Catherine McAuley, our educators are dedicated to providing a holistic education that empowers students to become compassionate leaders who advocate for justice, equality, and mercy in our society. By living the Mercy Charism every day, Holy Spirit School prepares students to make a positive difference in the world, embodying the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy and their dedication to serving with open hearts and open hands.

In 2022, Holy Spirit School engaged Jen Bryant to create a new school song that echoed the school's new vision and mission that is grounded in the Mercy Charism. Working with students, Jen recorded our new song that will now be a lasting legacy of our 2022 middle school leaders. Click here to hear our new school song.
