Welcome to Holy Spirit Primary School

Established by the Sisters of Mercy and committed to the ideals of Catherine McAuley of service, dignity, and compassion, Holy Spirit School empowers learners from Prep to Year 6 to embrace, challenge, transform and enrich their lives by living the gospel of Jesus and to know what is right. At Holy Spirit we work hard at living this through our actions. The staff, parents and children of Holy Spirit work together to create a community that is engaging, inspiring and supportive.

2018 Staffing and Class Allocationshttp://www.holyspiritnewfarm.qld.edu.au/news/Pages/2018-Staffing-and-Class-Allocations.aspx2018 Staffing and Class Allocations
During Term 4 plans will be made for staffing and class allocation for 2018 and I wish to inform our com-munity of the initial details of these plans. In 2018 we will have two classes of each grade level from Prep to Middle School. This includes two Middle School classes. Classes for 2018 will be collated by class teachers in collaboration with the Support Team. Class lists are then ratified by the school leadership team. Once ratified class lists are NOT changed.

If a parent has an educational issue that they wish to be considered by the school leadership team, they are invited to make this request to Kim. This request needs to be in writing and addressed to Kim by Monday 30 October, 2017. This is the only way requests will be considered (ie conversations or re-quests to classroom teachers is not acceptable).

Please note that the request must ONLY have an educational reason to be considered. Simply saying you do not like something will not be considered. Requests for particular teachers will not be accepted.
The written requests will be given due consideration but are not guaranteed. Requests for classes in late November and early December will not be accepted. A great deal of time and effort is used when preparing class allocation and it is too late at this time to simply move one child. Now is the time to submit requests.

Furniture Donationhttp://www.holyspiritnewfarm.qld.edu.au/news/Pages/Furniture-Donation.aspxFurniture DonationAs you may be aware the Year 3 & 4 class’ new furniture arrived during the school holi-days. This meant that we had a large number of desks and chairs that needed a new home. We’re very excited to let you know that one of our parents – Donna Mc Cart (Kingsley 3H) made contact with friends who are building a school in East Timor and were in need of furniture. Rotary provided a truck which collected all the desks and chairs today and it will be on its way to East Timor soon. This is such a wonderful out-come for all concerned. Thanks to Donna for her support in enabling this to happen and to Mr Devitt for organising the pick-up with Rotary.
